Welcome to the Irish BIM Innovation Awards 2016.  Since the formation of the Construction IT Alliance in 1999, its mission has been to drive the innovative adoption of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) within the Irish construction sector.  Building on the successes of the CitA Smarter Collaboration Challenge 2014 and CitA BIM Gathering International Conferences held in 2013 and 2015, CitA present an opportunity to select and showcase the best of Irish BIM Innovation projects adjudicated by a world class judging panel.

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is becoming a powerful driving force in seeking out efficiencies and increased productivity in the Irish construction industry.  CitA takes pride in that it was first to market in respect to identifying the relevance of BIM to the Irish construction sector.  This has been acknowledged in its success in securing funding for the two year funded BIM Innovation Capability Programme (BICP) and its recent appointment as the secretariat for Irelands newly formed National BIM Council (NBC).

BIM is becoming more and more important to manage complex communications and information sharing processes in building projects in Ireland.  A growing number of Irish design, engineering and construction firms are making significant progress in embracing and adopting BIM on projects both home and overseas.

The awards seek to capture the capability of the Irish Construction Industry to respond to the increased requirement in the future for BIM on Irish construction and engineering projects.

Entrants to the competition will be able to self-nominate for short list selection, the detail of which is included on this website.  Shortlisted entrants will be provided with the opportunity to present alongside keynote speakers followed by an evening awards dinner where the overall winners will be formally announced.

CitA welcomes submissions from across the Island of Ireland and hope that you will join us at the Irish BIM Innovation Awards 2016.

Dublin Institute of Technology and Co-Founding Director of CitA
